Effective October 1, 2008 all normal and customary business conducted by the Kinnelon Construction Department will be transferred to the Borough of Bloomingdale Construction Department.  This comes about as the direct result of a negotiated Shared Services Agreement.

Bloomingdale presently operates with a fully staffed department that utilizes a full time work schedule.  They function with the same computerized systems as we have been using, thereby maintaining compatibility in all phases of a project from beginning to end.  Permit applications, plan review, issuance of permits, inspections and certificates of occupancy procedures remain the same.  Upon completion of a permit process any and all records generated for Kinnelon projects remain the sole property of Kinnelon and will be retained appropriately.

Kinnelon, within the terms of this agreement, becomes the recipient of a well established functioning Department.  At the same time, this agreement contains stipulations allowing cost saving measures for Kinnelon in the execution of this vital service.

During the month of September, it will remain “business as usual” until the 30th.

On October 1st and going forward, you must go to, or contact the Bloomingdale Construction Department.  Their office location, telephone number and names of contact persons are listed below:

The Construction Department is located in a separate building adjacent to the Municipal Building at 101 Hamburg Turnpike, Bloomingdale.  Parking is in the rear of the Municipal Building.  Enter between the Municipal Building and the Bloomingdale Fireman’s Hall.

Contact persons are Daniel Hagberg, Construction Official and Maureen DePasquale, Technical Assistant.  They are eager to welcome you to the process and will help you in any way they can.

          The telephone number is 973-838-7995.

Please be patient with this new venture.  We are looking forward to a seamless transition.

The Board of Adjustment, Fire Prevention and Zoning Code Violation activities remain unchanged at the Kinnelon Municipal Building.
